ORDA becomes Envision Research

BRF’s Office for Research Development and Administration (ORDA) has rebranded and refocused its mission to become Envision Research. Its mission, vision and values have been updated to reflect a shift from managing the more than 60 new clinical trials per year within University Health System to partnering with community physicians to manage and promote clinical trials to a broader patient population and physician network – bringing cutting-edge prospective treatments and personalized study-related medical care to more North Louisiana patients at no charge.

Envision Research will connect physician practices and specialties with leading pharmaceutical and medical device sponsors and provide support in the way of experienced clinical research coordinators, infrastructure and resources needed to facilitate clinical trials.

Envision Research will also continue to promote translational research – scientific discoveries generated in laboratories for clinical application and improvement of human health – by awarding seed funds to investigators in North Louisiana to generate preliminary data that will allow them to apply for extramural funding from government and private sponsors. To date, Envision Research/ORDA has awarded $350,000 to investigators at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Louisiana Tech University and LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport.

ENVISION RESEARCH’S UPDATED MISSION, VISION AND VALUES:

MISSION: Improve healthcare through excellence in translational and clinical research.

VISION: Operate as a catalyst for innovative and successful research collaborations.

VALUES: Collaboration. Innovation. Efficiency. Integrity. Patient-Centric.

Envision Research, a division of BRF, is one of six initiatives spearheaded by BRF in its mission to diversify and grow our region’s economy. Multipack is located at 2791 Valley View Drive in Shreveport.

“This job fair is an opportunity for people to join a new build and a national company at our Shreveport location in our first round of staffing. It’s not an everyday opportunity, and we’re looking for individuals who are high energy and want to start their new career,” said Justin Wilkinson, Vice President of Operations.

Louisiana Economic Development (LED), Multipack Services and regional and state economic development partners BRF, North Louisiana Economic Partnership and the Caddo Parish Industrial Development Board announced Multipack Services’ new location in December of last year.

The company expects to create 141 direct new jobs with an average annual salary of more than $51,000. LED estimated that the project would result in an additional 228 indirect jobs, for a total of 369 new jobs in the Northwest region.

“Multipack is ready to gear up its operation in its state-of-the-art facility to offer a wide range of services, including product specifications and design. The site is expected to produce more than 100 million cans of beverage products per year. We hope that the community is ready to join in on the ground floor of this operation and be a part of this scale-up,” said John George Jr., M.D., BRF President and CEO.

The job fair is sponsored by BRF, Career Adventures and Lagniappe Sourcing Consulting.
