The annual Nuclear Triad Symposium is scheduled for June 20, 2024

BRF stakeholders,

Peter Huessy, with the National Institute for Deterrence Studies (NIDS), in collaboration with Louisiana State University Shreveport and BRF Defense, will host the annual Nuclear Triad Symposium in Shreveport, LA, on June 20, 2024. The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. CST until 5 p.m., followed by a networking reception in the LSU-Shreveport Collaboratory.

Registration is now open for this no-cost event for in-person or virtual attendance. A full agenda is forthcoming. If there is sufficient interest, organizers will hold a classified workshop on Friday morning.

The 3rd annual Triad event at LSU Shreveport offers an opportunity to meet with key leaders from Air Force Global Strike Command, 8th Air Force, and 307th Bomb Wing—all located at Barksdale Air Force Base—and experience the wealth of strategic ops expertise and experience located in Northwest Louisiana. Breaks will be scheduled throughout the day to enable government, industry, academic participants, and speakers to network and build collaborative relationships for the future. The main topic of discussion will be the “Role of Strategic Deterrence in Great Power Competition.” Along with the keynote address and several individual presentations, there will be two panel discussions including industry leaders.

Invited speakers include:

  • General Thomas A. Bussiere, Commander AFGSC
  • Maj Gen Stacy Jo Huser, Commander 20AF
  • Maj Gen Jason R. Armagost, Commander 8AF
  • Brig Gen Colin J. Connor, AFGSC Director of Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Modernization
  • Maj Gen (ret) Garrett Harencak, President of NNSS
  • Vice Admiral Johnny Wolfe, Director for Strategic Systems Programs, USN and Rear Admiral Scott Pappano, Program Executive Office Strategic Submarines, USN
  • Christopher Yeaw, National Security Research Institute
  • Matthew Kroenig, VP and Senior Director, Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security

The symposium will be held at the University Center at Louisiana State University Shreveport and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and reception. Organizers have blocked a group of rooms at local hotels for attendees.
